Review Topic: K1 Visa

The interview date was probably the best part out of the entire K-1 visa process.

Our appointment was early in the morning but we arrived almost 45 minutes too early. Nobody seemed to mind it though. There were a lot of people waiting in the non-immigrant visa line. But we went to the immigrant visa line and it was completely empty so we went straight in. Everyone was extremely friendly and super nice besides one or two security guards, but they were just doing their job.

We went in and were called to the first window. He verified that all my documents are there and that they didn't need anything else from me. We were told to wait until we get called up to the second window. After being called up again, I had my fingerprints taken and the interview process was explained to me. The lady then told me that my medical results are still missing and asked me when I had it done. She said she would have a look if the results might be there and she actually found them! We were happy because we knew without the medical results they can't approve our visa on the spot.

We sat back down and waited to be called up for our interview. That's what took the longest, but we didn't wait for a long time. Maybe 30 minutes at most.

My fiancée and I were called up and I had to swear that all my info is correct and that I'm telling the truth. Then I was only asked a couple of questions:

How did my fiancée and I meet?
When and where did we first meet in real life?
What happened after that? (I gave her a brief summary of our 5 year distance relationship)
Have we two been in an online relationship ever since then?

And that was it! Our visa was approved and we were told to wait about a week for it to be sent in the mail. The whole experience was extremely good. They couldn't have done a better job organizing everything. The ONLY thing I was a little sad about is that the vending machine with all the US goodies wasn't working lol.

Everything from entering the building to leaving it again took about 90 minutes. There are snacks, drinks, PC's with printers, photo booths and a machine for post stamps available in the building.

10/10 experience.
