San Francisco CA | Review on July 12, 2016: | Korruptor
Rating: | Review Topic: Adjustment of Status
We just finish the interview without any decision on the spot on July 6th, 2016. IO said she needs supervisor approval first. The IO is an African American lady who didn't look too friendly at first and didn't smile at all. My buddy I brought along as an interpreter for my wife got scold by her twice for not following her direction and was threaten to get kick out if he still doesn't follow her direct order. She ask me to hand over all the supporting documents that I have and place it in front of her and all our ID's and passport including my naturalization certificate.
The interview itself is straight forward, Most of the questions she asked my wife is off of I-485 like the yes/no questions, and her name, names she used before, her mom and dad's first name and her last entry into the US. She also asked her for her age, what she do for a living back home, and who supported her, and was she working part/full time there. Has she ever been to the US, who she lives with now, is she working now and who supported her. Who was our witness at the wedding ceremony and did we have a reception after. She also asked both of us what's our plan for this year and next year and when is her due date.
For me, she asked me how we first met, what I do for a living and where. After I told her what I do which is working for DHS as well, she finally started to lighten up and smile. Then she asked me when did we decide to get marry and who proposed. She also asked me when is my wife's due date.
After the questioning, she ask me to pick a few photos with both of us together with our families so she can put them on file, Then told us everything looks okay but she can't make a final decision until she gets supervisor approval.
Updated: Got approval letter in the mail on July 11th, 2016.
