My Fiance and I traveled to Warsaw for our K1 visa interview last week. Our interview was on a Thursday so there were not many people there (I think there were 4 immigrant visa submissions in line before us), but we still ended up waiting for 3 hours.
We got there at 8:30 and there was no one else waiting outside. I was able to bring in my purse, but we had to leave our phones at the entrance to the Embassy. Remember to take the laminated number they give you. We forgot to take the one they gave us so I had to prove to them that the phone is mine upon leaving. It was easy because I had a photo of myself on there but it still took some time. Also if you have any liquids, toss them. I forgot I had a little bottle of hand sanitizer and they were fine with it, but they checked my purse to make sure there wasn't something else.
Once you get inside you go downstairs and give them your appointment confirmation, and they put a sticker on my fiance's (the beneficiary's) passport. From there we were instructed to go to a certain window to receive a number, and then we sat down to wait for them to call us. At this point they call the numbers in order, so after a few minutes we were able to go to the window to submit all the papers they required. We have a co-sponsor so there were 2 I-134 forms and they took those but didn't want the proof of finances. They didn't ask for photos of us or anything like that, maybe because we were both present. They took the rest of our packet, like the police certificate, etc. The woman at the window was very nice and cheery.
Then we went back and sat down, and waited about 2.5 hours before being called up (numbers are not called in order; someone who arrived after we did was called up before us). We passed the time by talking and looking through the magazines for different things to do in each state (sadly they didn't have my state). The air conditioning was on very high so we were both really cold, haha. So bring a long sleeve shirt!
We got called up at about 11:30, the woman at the window was very nice and asked if my fiance wanted the interview in English or Polish. He said "whichever is easier for you" because he's fluent in both, so the interviewer used English. She asked a few questions: How did you two meet? (online) So you've been to the states a few times? (he's only been there once, so he corrected her.) and when do you plan on leaving Poland? (end of July) You two live together? (yes) How long ago did you meet? (march of 2015)
Then she said "Congratulations you're approved" and smiled. javascript:emoticon(' ') We both thanked her and we asked a couple questions which she answered, then we walked out.
TLDR; A lot of waiting for the amount of people in front of us, but in the end we're approved!
Everyone there speaks English and Polish, and it sounds like they also speak Russian but I'm not sure.
