I had my biometrics in Charlotte today.
If you come from the Asheville area, the Mapquest driving directions aren't fully correct. When you go from I-85 to the Billy Graham Parkway stay on it, don't turn until you see the street to the local office.
I had a bit of a hard time locating Chastain Ave because the sign was hidden by a tree branch... It's right on the opposite side of a Citigo gas station though. Once on that street, the building is on your left. Plenty of parking spots and no need to pay for it I was 20 minutes early.
I came in and gave the lady my appointment letter and ID card, good thing I also had my marriage license since I haven't been able to change my name on any of those. She gave me a paper to fill in with name, the USCIS numbers, physical description, etc. Then I waited in line to get my number, an other lady checked my papers and told me to sit down.
I waited for a while, after about 45 minutes a lady at the front said something and the numbers on the digital screen jumped up by 10. I got up with the others since my number was within the one skipped and we gave the biometric appointment notice, the biometrics info paper & ID. Went back to sit down.
They called my number right after and I had a really nice agent, chatter a bit with him while he took all my finger prints (took a while for my pinkie because it's small ), took my picture, asked me if I liked it. I said yes so he signed the papers, asked me to fill in the survey and I was out.
Pretty painless and easy although I had to wait longer than I expected.
