Arriving around 6am at US embassy in Phnom Penh.
Waiting around 7am before the check-in window opens on the left long side of the building. Going thru security: no cell, no food, only clear bag to carry documents, they issues a green slip with time of arrival and progression list of your case. Went to another security check-point. Finally waiting room. We were the 3rd couple of waiting line. Windows 7 is the first window that everybody needs to go to get a ticket. We been bounced through windows to submit our case, our evidence (emails, Skype chat, video logs, pictures etc...) fingerprinted, as my fiancee was told to do.
Our interview happened on windows 2. The lady officer is so helpful, so friendly and nice. I dressed up in tie. SO begins the interview:
She asked my fiancee:
1-How did we get to know each other? The person who contacts me, does she speak Khmer? How did she meet my mother?
2-Have you met my parents? Have you chat with my mother?
3-Have you been living outside Cambodia?
4-Can you read English? She asked my fiancee to read one of my letter. My hand writing sucks. She kinda tumbled on reading it. She made it to first paragraph and handled back the letter.
She asked me:
1-Do I speak Khmer?
2-How do I get to know my fiancee?
3-How come I didnt have the 2015 tax return? I told her I submit, but I do have my paychecks. She did check my paychecks.
4-How long I was married? Any kids?
5-What was my visa when I first came to US? I came on Visa A1-diplomacy visa- I was the personnel chef for the French Consulate - as I proved it with my expired french passport. Lecturing my career at that time, serving Swiss, Argentina consulate.
6-Where are you working now? I told her that I cook american food.
7-Do you live with someone in US?
8-Has my mom talk to my fiancee?
As the interview went on, I stayed focus. I answered in perfect English, quietly, in a clear and nice tone, the micro was located on right side of the bottom, 2 feet away. I was worried for the last question to me. For each question answered, she typed in to register them. After 5 seconds of dead activity, she looked up on her left side, reached out for......a blue slip while I kept my mouth shut; she told us that she can come back next Friday to pick up her visa!!!!
