My appointment was 4/25/2016 at 8:30am. I arrived to the embassy at 7:50. I had to stand in the immigrant visa line, that is next to the non-immigrant visa glass booth. I was called to the security controll and I had to show my passport through the window, take off my jacket, turn around and show them the undersides of my shoes. I didn't have anything with me besides all the required paperwork. I was asked to step inside and I had to put my stuff in a box so it could be x-rayed and I had to step through a metal detector, just like at the airport. I was told to take my things, follow the yellow line and go to desk 7.
There were only two people infront of me but I wasn't asked to hand over my papers until after 10. I talked to a really friendly lady that had a Finnish accent. I was asked to sit down and wait for my name to be called for my interview. I sat down maybe 5-10 minutes tops and then my name was called and I got to speak to another friendly woman. I saw that she had my papers infront of her and it had an APPROVED stamp on it but I tried to ignore it. She asked if I swear to tell the truth and so on... I had to leave my fingerprints and then the questions she asked were: Who in the US is petitioning for me? I said my husband XX but he is living with me here in Sweden. She appologized for pronouncing my last name wrong, but I said no worries, nobody knows how to say it She then asked Where did we meet? When did we start dating? When did my husband move to Sweden? What does he do for a living? What are my likes about my husband? After answering everything she said "You are my last immigrant visa today and your case was the easiest one so Thank you! I have everything I need and your visa will be issued withing 10 business days. It usually takes less time than that but count on ten days." I walked out with a huge smile on my face and my worried husband was waiting for me outside of the gates. I first tried to trick him that we didn't get approved but I just couldn't hide my huge grin :D
