The interview was scheduled for 12:30 pm at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta (there are 2 so make sure you go to the right one). My fiance joined me and we were the third in line. There was a slight delay and we weren't able to enter until 12:50 pm. The Guards and people at the security point were friendly though, and there weren't many people in line.
I was called to window 7 not long after entering the building where the interview will take place. The woman behind the counter was not very friendly and seemed to be a bit impatient, but as long as you have all your documents and organized, there shouldn't be any issues. She took the documents needed and handed the rest back to me. I then continued to window 5 to pay the K-1 visa fee, very nice lady btw, and then went back to window 7 to give her the receipt.
After almost 3 hours I was called into the room 1 for the interview. I was interviewed by a woman. They asked me the following questions :
1.How did you meet your fiance?
2.You and your fiance met 3 and a half years ago, what made you wait so long to get married?
3.Is he working and what does he do?
4.Do you know his work history?
5.Does your fiance have siblings?
6.What's your plans after you enter the U.S.?
My fiance also joined me to the Embassy, and the interviewer asked for him to join me in the room. She then asked him similar questions, likely to check if the answers/explanations were the same. She also asked why some documents were missing (1024 and W2). My fiance explained and also lightened the mood by joking around with the interviewer, and speaking on a little more personal level. The interviewer than seemed satisfied, congratulated and joked with us, and wished us good luck on our journey.
If my fiance hadn't attended the interview with me, our K-1 visa may have been put on hold until the 1040 and W2 was emailed. If you are attending the Interview alone, MAKE SURE ALL DOCUMENTS NEEDED ARE BROUGHT because it may delay the visa process.
Overall the interview went well!
