Ghana | Review on April 15, 2016: | Loverneverfails
Rating: | Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
I am writing this review on behalf of my husband.
Our interview was on 4/13. I went to the interview to attend but unfortunately the rules in ghana have changed, spouse is no longer allow in building. Before my husband when in building he asked the police officer if I could sit inside their security office because I wasn't from Ghana and wasn't familiar with my surroundings...officer said yes.
1) Two lines were formed around 7 am one for immigrant and one for non immigrant visa
2) Security Officer ask hubby for passport and interview letter
3) Husband went in around 7:30 came out around 11:30 (it took him about 4 hours)...the police officer said your husband is taking a long time that is a good sign...though we thought
4) Hubby said when he got in the building personnel ask for passport, interview letter, police report, medicals and 2014 tax return, original civil documents and evidence of relationship. They ask him to take a seat...
5) About one hour later they called hubby to take fingerprints and told him to go back and sit down
6) About one hour later hubby was called for interview he was sworn in and interview began thereafter
7) Questions asked not in exact order 1) How did you meet your wife 2) Wife Occupation 3) Place of work 4) Do your wife have any children if so how many and their ages 5)When did your wife divorce 6) Caused of divorce 7) Did your wife seek counseling before divorcing 8) Where did your wife go to school and what did she study 9) Have you traveled to US before or lived outside of Ghana 10) When did you have your wedding 11) Name of witnesses 12) Do you have any property together 13),How many visits your wife made to Ghana 14) Did you guys get married on first visit.
Husband said the lady was kind of rude and impatient( meaning she didn't let him finished his answers before jumping to next question)... hubby asked her to slow down and wait until he respond before asking another question...she complied.
Husband said she seemed to be very impressed with his answers but she became somewhat puzzled after she found out we got married on my first visit to Ghana...he said she said " Now I don't know what to do" Thereafter she asked him please take a seat and let me go through your evidence
An hour later. she called him and told him I am sorry but I can't issued you a visa if your wife feels the relationship is real she can contact USCIS and have them return case and gave him the 221g letter.
He asked her for explanation of letter but she didn't respond and just got up and left.
Husband said overall the interview went well...he said he believe that if we had provided primary evidence she most likely would have approved the visa...lesson learned for us...next time we will be ready...I just wished we would have found visa journey when we started the process...I believe our outcome would have been different in spite of the red flags
We still have the victory and in the end it will work out for our good..
