We got to our appointment about half an hour early. The security guys were super nice and once we were through we headed up to the third floor where the USCIS offices are. You hand your interview letter to a receptionist who then directs you to sit down in the waiting area. It's definitely the nicest facility we've visited as part of the immigration saga! There were about five other groups waiting, so it wasn't busy. We waited about 15 minutes before an officer called us back and brought us to another, smaller waiting room. He had my wife wait there while I (the petitioner) went back to his office with him. He asked my quite a few questions that just established our history as a couple (how we met, first date, who proposed, when did we get married, etc). He also asked where I work, where my wife works, what our hours are, and some questions about our living arrangements (how many beds/bathrooms in our house). I gave him the evidence I'd brought and he looked through it. As he was looking through it he said we should make sure to hold onto the same kind of evidence for when we have to file for lifting conditions, since that will make our lives easier if we've already got everything collected. Then he had me go wait in the waiting area while he spoke with my wife. He asked her the same questions to make sure she gave the same answers as me, then he came back out and got me. He went through the form with my wife to verify all the information was correct, and then he said he was recommending us for approval! He printed out a letter that said that and told us we should get a final decision in 5-10 days, and that the green card should be here in a month.
He was a really nice guy, and the interview was easy and not stressful at all. Definitely a good experience with USCIS!
