Due to my fiancee being there, I could cut the waiting line in front of the consulate which probably saved us some twenty minutes.

Once in the consulate, things continued to work really smoothly: we had to go to one counter where they checked whether there was anything left they needed from us (police certificate and affidavit as well as birth certificate) and the officer gave me an envelope that I had to address to myself (prepared stickers are ok) and put a 4.25 Euro stamp on.
Afterwards, we had to wait for about 20 minutes until we were called to the next officer, who checked the information on the forms with us (unfortunately, she forgot to turn the speaker on) and told us that the next step would be the personal interview and then we'd be done.

After another twenty minutes of waiting we were called to the "interview" which consisted of the notarization of the forms, the question where we'd move to and when we were gonna get married. Afterwards he wished us good luck and told me that within a week I would receive my passport with the visa. In fact, it only took two days until the envelope arrived in the mail.

The whole appointment took from approx. 7.30am till 9.15am

All the officers, as well as the security personnel were very nice and helpful whenever there were questions. I was amazed by how fast we were done.
