Late review but still a review,
interview was set for august 12th, arrived august 10th from durango mexico to have a couple of days to do everything. planned to just walk in at the clinic and test our luck but immediately upon arriving at the bus station there was a woman from the clinica medica internaccional offering brochures/info etc. we took advantage and scheduled an appointment right then and there for around 10am. we got a taxi, went straight to the clinic.
everything went smoothly, i helped my fiance fill out his information on the clipboard then he was sent to sit in a different section, he maybe waited half and hour before he was called in with others to go to another building. i waited for him in the first building for maybe 2 hours but being almost 8 months pregnant it felt like an absolute eternity. he eventually appeared again, they told him to return the next day for his results. *good thing we prepared for this with arriving a couple days in advance!*
august 11th he had biometrics at 8am, got there 5 minutes early which is fine because they do not call your group until just a few minutes before your scheduled time being there excessively early does not help in any way. waited outside the building for him took maybe 30 minutes and he was done and out. took advantage of the rest of this day to gather anything we needed for the interview, went to pick up exam results as well. around the biometrics area theres places to take passport photos, computers with internet, help with filling out forms, etc etc. we also ate at a restaurant right next to the ASC cant remember the name, food was OK.
august 12th, arrived at the sala de espera maybe 10 minutes early, got in line i went as far as i could with him in the line. it was a very very hot day! did not wait in the sala de espera i probably would have fainted in there, i waited outside... which seemed like an eternity which i would have had a hotel to stay at nearby to wait (stayed with relatives) about 2 hours later he came and found me outside. he had answered some date questions wrong and she had got a little worried with the case and asked him if i was there outside and to go get me! so i walked back inside with him to the consulate, he took me through to where his consular officer was, we waited a couple minutes to get called up and she asked him to sit down while she questioned me... so nerve wrecking but after half an hour of questions and convincing her that he had just gotten confused. she called him back and in front of the both of us congratulated him and told him his visa was approved! while it was nerve wrecking im glad i was able to witness his happiness at that moment, couples dont get interviewed together anymore so it was rare.
relaxed a couple of days in juarez and went back to durango to wait for the visa, it arrived about a week later.
tips:
-be there a couple days early, give yourself extra time in case your exam results are not ready same day.
- juarez weather can be extremely hot or extremely cold. stay at a hotel nearby, wait for fiance there!
- do everything you can to not take taxis they are a total rip off.
