Got to the embassy 30 minutes earlier and we had to wait but it was a nice sunny weather. My interview was scheduled for 1 PM, and around 12:55 a guy from the security came out and invited us to go inside.
Once I was cleared by the security went to the second building where the Consulate is. At the first window I had to give my passport, one 2x2 inches picture and then I was told to take a seat and wait. I was called again to the same windows to give in my papers. Then I was sent to window 12 to pay the MRV fee which was payable either in USD or RON. I paid in USD and went back to window 1 with the receipt.
Afterwards I was called to windows 6 to take my fingerprints and invited again to take a seat and wait to be called by the Consul for the actual interview.
After another 10 minutes I heard my name and I had to go to Window 9. The US consul was such a nice lady and the interview was more like a conversation than an interview.
After I took the oath she asked me:
How did you meet?
How many times did you see each other?
Did you have any problems with the police?
Did you you live outside Romania more than 6 months?
What is she doing in the States?
Did you make specific wedding plans?
How did you propose?
You two make a cute couple. And that was it.
Everything looks okay and your visa is approved! You'll have it in 2-3 working days.
Got my visa after exactly 3 working days (I would have received it earlier but Monday was President's Day and the consulate was closed)
Since I had a tourist visa valid for 10 years, they cancelled it. My new visa is valid for 6 months from the date I took the medical.
POE will be in Detroit (DTW), June 30th.
