Denver CO | Review on February 4, 2016: | stev
Rating: | Review Topic: Adjustment of Status
I had my AOS interview in Denver, CO on February 3, 2016 and it was a very positive and smooth process. My husband and I showed up 15 minutes before our 10:00A interview and they checked us in and saw us before our appointment was scheduled.
What I brought to the interview:
-copies of all me and my husbands government ID's (Canadian passport, Canadian social security card, both birth certificates, both socials, husbands US passport, both drivers licenses, EAD)
-proof of marriage (photos, marriage certificate, lease, proof my husband was my beneficiary on my life insurance, health insurance cards, rent and car insurance, bank statements)
-all my old applications for the previous visas (I-129F, EAD, Advanced Parole, AOS)
-interview notice with date and time of appointment
The officer brought us back to an office and after we swore in he sat us down and asked us to go over some information that was on the initial I-485 application that he already had. Questions were straight forward and nothing was tricky. He asked us how we met, when we have seen each other in the past and when we were married and when I last entered the US. Nothing was difficult about the interview and he was really friendly.
After about 30 minutes he took some photocopies of a few other documents and said based on how well we were prepared and organized he was going to approve us on the spot! He said once we left he would update the system and sure enough I received a text and email two hours later notifying us that our card is being prepared to be sent!
All in all it was a very positive experience - absolutely nothing to worry or stress about.
Good luck to all of you!
