Ghana | Review on January 20, 2016: | mrSoft
Rating: | Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
We prepared and put together all our documents. It was basically 3 things: Whatsapp screenshots, imessage printouts and photo albums.
Our wedding was a simple civil marriage ceremony in the judge's office with 10 people in total. No church wedding. No refreshments. No ayefro dondo bill to pay. Just 10 people in the judge's office including the judge and his secretary.
The consular's name was Maureen. I think this is the K.M. lady that other people have had so many bad experiences with.
She basically gave back all our evidence. She only kept the pictures that that had handwritten descriptions under them.
Then the questions followed:
How many brothers does your wife have?
How many sisters?
How many of them live at home?
Where does the dad work?
How long has he been working there?
How about the mom? Where does she work?
Are they still married?
How long have they been married?
Where does your wife go to school?
What does she study?
Why is she studying that?
What are her plans?
How many times has your wife visited you.
Is she here now?
How long has she been here?
You mean you wife has been here for the past 3 weeks?
Where did you get married?
Why did you get married in Ghana?
Did you consider getting married in the states?
Have you ever been to the states?
Do you have any children?
Does your wife have any children?
Have you ever been married?
How about your wife has she ever been married?
When did you get married?
Have you ever applied for a visa?
Why were you denied?
When are you planning to leave Ghana together?
Come back in a week for your visa.
Thats it.
There was no pressure.
It was more like a conversation with a stranger at a beer spot.
She commented on how well organised our files were. Our file was
1) 2 comb bindings of whatsapp screenshots. About 1,000 pages.
2) Another 3 comb bindings of imessage screenshots. About 1,000pages
3) 7 picture albums of us in different places with friends all through the past year. We paid an immigration attorney to do all our paperwork and put everything on neat letterheads.
It was very helpful reading other couple's stories on visajourney.
Thanks for all your help. Hope my review is helpful.
Peace.
