I went in with my wife prepared as much as possible. We had duplicates of everything we could find, expecting a tough interview. The interviewing officer was very polite, asked up to swear in and then began asking questions about our relationship. We did not have much regarding joint financial documents since my wife did not have a social security card yet. I had changed a life insurance policy to her name but that was it. We showed pictures of a trip we had made to meet my daughter's family across the country, which seemed to satisfy the officer of our true intent of a marriage.
The experience was quite surprising and quick. I think it was less than 20 minutes.
