Sorry for the delay. Our interview was on July 9 and was scheduled at 1:00. My fiance and I went together (I am the USC). We arrived at about 12:45, got through the security checks, and had a seat in the waiting room next to the blue chairs. At about 1:10 we were called to a desk where a very nice man took all of our evidence and documents for preparation. But then he also informed us that the consular hadn't taken his lunch break yet, and that he didn't know when he would actually get around to interviewing us! I thought that was pretty crappy but whatever.
There were two other women going for their K1s who also had appointments for 1:00 so we chatted with them until about 2:45 when we were finally called up to the desk again. Their fingerprinting device wasn't working, so we ended up having the interview around the corner where most of the other people get their visitors visas and such, but by this time the lobby was empty besides us K1ers.
The interviewer was very nice.. he didn't ask us any hard questions-- just about how we met, how we knew we were in love even on the computer, how we got along with eachothers families, what we planned to do in the US, and other such questions that are easy to answer if have a genuine relationship. It was probably easier because we were together too.
By the way the hotels around in and around downtown Vancouver seemed to run about $200 per night at the cheapest during this season. We stayed slightly outside of the city because we were able to get some rewards deal with one of the hotels, but otherwise this could have been a very expensive trip since we stayed for a few days. The bus system was really convenient but a little hard to understand at first. Be ready for a lot of walking if you plan to do some touring but aren't going to rent a car Good luck!
