Algiers, Algeria | Review on January 5, 2016: | D&Gsera

Overall the experience at the US/Algiers embassy was quite pleasant. I happened to be visiting my fiance in Algeria around the date of the interview so I was able to attend it with him. When we arrived, there were approximately twenty other people waiting outside (which is what we had to do until they allowed us in). When they started allowing people to go in, they checked my fiances papers and verified his appointment. We asked if I could go inside the embassy with him, but they said I needed an appointment also (which didn't make sense). I was told to wait a few minutes outside while my fiance was admitted inside. A bit of a hassle at the moment but most likely because I was eager for the interview. Once I was allowed inside and met up with my fiance at the waiting room, we waited some more. Our name was called to turn in the forms/evidence for the interview and then sent to another window to pay. About twenty minutes later we had the actual interview. The interview itself was quite short, for us I'd say it was about 5 minutes. The CO lady was nice and admitted her surprise that I was with my fiance for the interview. She asked questions such as:
-How did we meet?
-Why did we decide to plan to wed in the U.S instead of Algeria?
-How did my fiance learn English
-What are fiance (beneficiary) plans once entering the U.S
-What are our families reactions & feelings concerning our relationship and did they find online romantic relationships odd
-She asked my fiance (beneficiary) what I do for a living
Questions went by quickly and the CO was pretty comfortable to interact with. As soon as she finished asking the questions, she informed us that she's seen everything necessary and let us know that we are approved =)
