We had our interview today, and our experience matched what others have said here. There is a large and not well organized line waiting to get through security. My fiancé forgot his appointment letter, so we had to race back to the hotel to get his phone so we could show that at the security check in.
Note: Feel free to bring your phone -- they will check it at security.
So, as a result, we arrived at 8:45 am for an 8:30 am appointment. And, that was not a problem. So, breath easy. After we got through security, we proceeded across the courtyard into the consular services section. He was called up immediately to drop off our documents. And, we only had a short wait to proceed up to window 13. We both came up. The officer was friendly, swore in my fiancé. Had a brief conversation in Russian. The basic questions were how we met, how we communicated, where I lived, where I worked, etc. All very easy questions. The CO also provided the IMBRA information as required.
When he was done, he said, "You will have 90 days to get married. Your visa is approved."
We were done and in a cab by 9:45. So, total time was about 45 minutes. Very fast and easy.
