Our interview was Monday October 5th at 10am. My fiancé (USC) and I got there around 9:30 and waited for 20 minutes at the park across the street before going to Window 1. The guy at the window asked for my passport, and he gave me a piece of paper and instructions that were on a green folder. Then we went through security and gave them our phones (which they hold during the duration inside) and passed through the metal detectors.

The first step was having my fingerprints taken. There was a line and we waited there at first, but a woman approached me and said that because I had an immigration appointment I didn't have to wait in line (she knew this because of the green folder I held). We went together at the front and took my fingerprints. After that she directed us to the waiting area for appointments.

We sat in the back of the room and put our documents together as specified on the green folder instructions. We realized we had a lot of documents we didn't really need, but were happy to be prepared. We waited around 15 minutes and they called me by my last name to one of the windows. A nice guy who spoke Spanish and English (he asked which language I preferred), checked all of the documents, took all of them out of the plastic sheets and the ones that weren't needed.

We then sat back down and waited another 30 minutes before being called by last name to Window 5 (which is really a small room with two chairs). My fiancé went in there with me for my interview. The woman was really nice, smiling all the time, and we felt like we were talking with a friend while she asked us basic questions about how we met, our plans and our relationship. The whole interview lasted no more than 10 minutes. At the end, she congratulated us and wished us the best of luck, 'you are approved!'. My fiancé and I were extremely happy, hugging each other and kissing in celebration. The woman smiled and wished us well.

We were out of the embassy by 11:30am and expect our visa to arrive 7 days later (hopefully Friday!).

Overall, I was really nervous, but the whole process was smooth and everyone was really nice to us. Nothing to worry about at all! :D

I wish all of you the best of luck!
