I was schedule for an interview in October 2015 at 8:45am. I reached the US embassy at 8am and was surprised that there is a long queue there and people are sitting on the benches at the waiting area. I suggest to go there early. There is no carpark, the nearest carpark is at Glen Eagles Hospital if anyone of you are driving. When I was there, the security guard was joking, "What the hell is this! What a huge pile! Did you bring your bills too?" The security guard will ask 4 people to stand and queue at the door at a time, once we are being called, you will have to surrender your mobile phone and go through the body and bag scan checks. You will then walk up the long slope into the building. Once you walk into the building, there is another scan and bag check security and then proceed to the visa department on the left.
I was being called after 5 minutes wait, the first officer is a Chinese man like what other posters said. He is extremely professional and friendly, he asked for the documents to provide to him:
1) Original birth certificate
2) Police Clearance (no longer has envelope)
3) Affidavit of support which includes pay stubs, employment letter as my fiance just got a new job in June, bank statements, tax returns and my savings for more support
He proceeded to ask questions:
1) How did you meet your fiance?
2) When did you meet your fiance in person?
3) What does he work as in XXXX Company?
4) Have you live in other country other than Singapore?
5) Do you know how much he earns?
6) Evidence of relationship, I brought a huge stack copy of I-129F that my fiance filed but with original boarding passes, receipts etc.He said it is not needed, all he wants is 3 recent photographs as they do not have the time to go through everything.
7) What is your fiance marital status?
8) What is your marital status?
9) Do you have any children? Does he has any children?
10) Were you both married before?
11) Have you been to America?
12) Have you ever been denied by US visa?
He wasn't using the mic during my interview. He has also told me that embassy usually has make some updates ongoing and some information provided by posters might not be accurate as they don't get updated. He passed me the Domestic Violence pamphlet and told me that yes I know you have probably read it but the embassy requires you to read it one more time. I was also given a white paper that says document submission letter in case I need to provide more documents. He asked if I have registered for Aramex, I said yes and he told me to wait for the next officer.
After 30 minutes, I was being called out by the PA system to another counter. The second officer is an Asian lady, very nice too. She returned the original birth certificate to me. She asked me to do the oath to swear that everything said was true and then proceed to do the finger prints. I have long nails, had to do my fingerprint 3 times!
During the interview she asked a few questions:
1) Do you know where your fiance is born?
2) He just naturalized this year?
3) When is his birthday?
4) What other games do you play, what other games did he play?
5) When did you both started dating?
6) Do you know his address?
7) Does he has any siblings?
8) What does he do in XXX Company?
9) What did he do in his previous job?
10) When did you meet in person?
11) How long did you both meet for?
12) Where did he stay when he was in Singapore?
13) Have you plan for the wedding?
After the interview, I asked the lady officer if there are any other things that I am required to do? She said that will be all, everything seems fine now, the visa process will take a week. I asked her what do I do with the document submission letter, she said it is just for fyi.
And that's it! Now my new journey will begin in the US! All the best to everyone!
