Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My interview was scheduled for 11:00. I got there early (about 10:30) but apparently they had no backlog so they started processing my case straight away. First a Croatian lady gave me back a few of my submitted documents and my medical exam results. She said I should still bring it with me to the US (should I get approved today). She also produced a few new documents to be forwarded to my interviewer (this is where I finally got my A-number). Then I was called to another booth for the interview. The lady at the interview was very nice. First she made me swear whatever I say will be true to the best of my knowledge. Then we had to wait a few minutes for her computer to quit acting up, haha. Then she asked quite a few questions, most of them fairly standard though, no trick questions or anything. All the while she kept typing into the computer and writing stuff down into various forms. Some of the questions she asked:

When/how did you meet?[/*]

When did you get married?[/*]

How often do you go visit?[/*]

Where do you work and what do you do? What do you plan to do when you move?[/*]

What does your spouse do for a living?[/*]

How many siblings does she have? What do they do for a living?[/*]

What are her parents' names?[/*]

Did she ever come visit you in Croatia?[/*]

When is the last time you went to visit?[/*]

Is it difficult living apart? (Duh!)[/*]
She also wanted to see some pictures of us together. We submitted plenty of them with the original I-130 petition but for some reason she couldn't find them. Luckily I brought a few with me.

In the end she didn't exactly say if I was approved or not, she just handed me some paperwork and said I should read it because it contains some useful information for when I move to the US. Lol!

Then the Croatian lady joined in and said with any luck they should be able to have my visa printed out and ready in a couple of hours. I left my phone number so they'd call me if it's ready. By about 11:10 I was out.

They called about 14:00 and told me my visa is ready so I went back. Went through another security procedure. The guy at the booth gave me my passport with the old (B-2) visa cancelled and the new one put in, and also my immigration package and told me briefly how to handle it. By about 15:10 I was out with all my paperwork.
