My husband and I went to the GC interview this past Friday. It went very well, and we were basically approved on the spot.
The interview time was scheduled at 10:30a. We arrived 15 minutes early, and waited for about 30 mins before my name was called. There were quite a few people in the waiting area before us, and most of them were still there by the time we were leaving.
Our interview was conducted by a very friendly lady, and another male officer who was sitting in the back of the office taking notes. She had the whole application package I submitted in front of her, verified my husband and I's personal information while browsing through. She also took our passports at the beginning of the interview, but returned them at the end.
The questions we were asked were: how did you first meet? When did you start dating? Had you lived together before marriage? What is your plan after getting the green card (we currently are living apart due to work related reason). The whole interview took about 15 mins, and we didn't get questioned separately.
At the end of the interview, she told us she was going to recommend for approval, and asked if there was any questions. So I asked her if that meant we were approved. Her answer was that she needed to run a background check, but she didn't see it would be a problem (so basically it was an approval). She also said we should receive online update that same day or next. In deed, I got a text update as soon as we walked out of the USCIS building.
