So, i had my interview scheduled on 29th September.. That was on Tuesday.
I arrived there at 5:45am, yes that early, but i found about 5 people standing outside the gate. I had my daughter, 9yrs old. The gate was opened at 6:00am. We were quite a number and the queue was long out side. We ended up being the first on the female queue. A search is done one by one as you enter. At this point you enter with your phone etc.. Then we went inside, another stop, there is a lady at the reception, she confirms your name is on the list.. we sit down on a queue.. then we start entering two people at a time. This time is for a serious security check. You declare what you have that is prohibited.. then place it in the tray. and also the bag. It enters the machine. I had removed everything, but you just know women bags, we never really know what exactly is in the bag.. So the computer kept showing there was a tweezer in my bag..lolest.. we searched for so long.. it also showed a plug.. i did not know it was there. the lady security helped me find it.. they would not move to the next person until they were done with me.. that's how strict they are. We found them eventually and they took them. Gave me a collection card. Ladies, we entered with handbags...
Then, i went straight on, one side for immigrants and the other for non immigrants. Entered and was given a number, i was the first for the day. C401 was my number. Went back outside to sit. Then the screen called my number and window i was expected.. window 7. I went, provided my documents there and was given some documents which we had sent to NVC. Then i was asked a if i have been to the US before, if i have ever been denied visa, etc.. then i went outside. After a little while again i was called to window 10.. the white lady was nice, asked me my birthdate, did finger prints.. Went outside again.. after like 5 minutes i was called in to window i cant remember the number, the was an african american lady, she looked calm, you cannot really read her mood.. but she was just typing stuff as we talked.. So she asked me to raise my right hand and swear bla bla bla! Then the she started, How did you meet? tell me the story. How did he propose? (all this time she is typing) Then she asked, do you have any pictures? I said yes.. i had a scrap book.. She took it, looked at me and called another lady to come and see.. she said, you are very organized and neat! I smiled with a thank you whisper..lol.. Then i told her i had brought with me some other evidence(lifting them up for her to see).. she said no, the photos were good enough. Then she gave me back the original documents.
Sadly, she pulled out a yellow slip, together with our passports.. heheeheh!! I asked her why, she said go read it and respond.. I took a sneak preview before leaving and saw, IRS taxes and co-sponsor words..lol... I quickly told her if it is about 2014 taxes, i had them in the folder. She said, "really! and why didn't your submit at window 7?" I replied, "the lady at window 7 did not ask for them, hence i assumed i would be required to submit in the next level". She took them, on top was W2s plus all the accompanying forms.. she looked at the W2s and asked me to give her the yellow slip and pulled out a green slip, the domestic violence booklet, and another white paper that says i should go pay Elis fees.. Oh and she also said, Welcome to America..
Go there prepared people.. carry everything you need coz you never know what they will ask for.. i saw a lady being denied.. i don't know why.. I left there at 9:00am. By the way. it is very cold there.. dress warm. And they sell coffee with snacks.
