here is my review for K1 visa. I arrived at 6:30 for my 6:45 appointment , there was quite a line already. went through security check, they took my electronics and gave me a card to get it afterwards. went to a waiting area inside and was given a number...mine was C427, after this was asked to wait outside (it's freezing so dress warmly)...about an hour later was called to counter 8 (there are I think 1-11) and a lady asked for my ds 160 form, birth certificate, police certificate, mrv receipt, affidavit of support (scanned copy with no supporting documents)...she then asked me same questions like on ds 160 application then asked to wait outside. ..
After like another hour, was called for fingerprinting. ...more waiting and after like one and half hour later was called for the interview itself.
my CO was a guy in his thirties, nice guy...said good morning and asked me to raise my right hand and swear. After this he asked me these questions
1.who is Adam to you
2.how old is he? how old are you?
3.how and when did you meet?
4.when did you meet physically, how long did he stay?
5.what are your wedding plans?
6.why did you decide to marry in America?
7.how did your family react to you marrying Adam
he then asked me for photos , I gave him my scrapbook with photos from Adams first visit to the recent ones.he was so impressed he showed it to his colleagues and even commented it's how photos should be presented, telling a story....
He gave it back and said my visa was approved. ..gave me green slip with congratulations and instructions on how I will get my visa. He said it would be ready in 2-5 days so I check online.he said congratulations again. ..gave me a pamphlet on domestic violence and said good day.
It was generally a good experience. The key is to remain calm, smile, be honest and very organised. If you know your better half, it should be a smooth sail.
I hope this helps.
All glory to God, this part of the journey is behind us
