We filed our AOS on May 2014. We received NPIW letter September 2014. We were hoping that we would not have an interview. We received an RFE in June for an expired medical. We responded. Then on August 22 we received a letter notifying us of an interview. It was at 8am. We left at 6:30am but with traffic and heavy rains we did not arrive until 9:15am. We explained we got caught in traffic and they signed us in. We were called back around 10:15am. The ISO II we spoke with was a lady. The first question she asked was why we were so late getting to the appointment. Then she asked me to ask my husband some questions in Spanish. I asked him the questions, but he was not responding the way she wanted him to. I had to repeat several questions. Then about halfway through the interview, she started asking him questions in Spanish. Then she asked to see the photo album we brought. She asked my husband what proof of co-mingling did we have. He was slow to answer, he said "our love", photos, insurance. She asked why he was not on any loans. He explained that they didn't want to put him on the loans because he only had a "work permit" and not a resident card. She wanted to keep random photos from the photo album. Some of us together, some with his family, and some of the wedding. I stapled two photos to a sheet, and she put it in our file. She took a copy of our marriage certificate, and kept all the copies of our insurance. She then asked him questions from a application, like has he been arrested, has he had anything to do with drugs, did he pay me to marry him, stuff like that. After a silence, she said we were approved. This lady though the whole time did not smile, and was very short and direct. I am just glad we can breathe and not worry about immigration for another two years.
