We had our aos interview at west palm bea h on the morning of July 21, 2015. I arrived in the USA in March of 2013 on a visitors visa. I met my husband in April of the same year and got married in 2014.
Our journey began when we filed for permanent residence in March 2015. Everything went by pretty smooth. We had no rfes.
We arrived for the interview @ 11:45 since we had a 12:15 appointment. Afte clearing security, our lawyer met us in the waiting area. He joined the line, got our number and we waited. This time it was way past 12:15. At about 12:40 we were called in by a very quite and mature Caucasian woman. She was very polite.
She proceeded to swear us in. Then we were asked to take a seat. She wanted all three of us to sit together, me hubby and lawyer. My daughter who is 9 and part of the petition was given paper and pen to draw with.
Our lawyer gave her a big file with our documents. She then asked for identification. I gave her all passports.
She then asked my husband how and when he
met me.How many children he has? Then she asked all the questions from the aos form. Then she asked me my daughter's age, and the yes and no questions from the form. All this time she never asked usfor one evidence. We brought pictures, bank statements, insurance documents, affidavits etc. She was very surprised when I answered yes to the question of military and weapons training. She wanted to hear more. I explained myself and we got engaged in a beautiful conversation. She wanted to know if I was going to join the military or police here. I told her that I will think about it.
After going back and forth with our files and on the computer, she asked our lawyer if he told us about the ROC. She then tild us we were approved and that we will receive our cards in the mail in 2 weeks. My hubby asked for stamp in passport, she said they dont stamp anymore but if we have an emergency we can get a stamp. We shook hands she wished us good luck and ww went outside. When I checked my phone, everything was updated. It said our aos was approved, card was ordered and in production and welcome letters were mailed. To God be the glory, it was a nerve wrecking experience leading up to this. But God is just awesome and came through for us once again. We have been greened
