Hi all,
This is long over due but I would like to submit my review about my interview at the Indonesian Embassy on the 28th of April 2015
I arrived at 11.30 and my interview was set for 12.30 PM, they made me wait by the gate for the timing and my dad who was with me was asked to wait outside for me. There is no waiting space for people that are not allowed into the embassy. And you have to apply to bring someone else in. You can't just walk in... just an FYI
Around 12.15 they began giving us this basket to put our phones and other electronics in and we made our way into the embassy entrance, where we passed through security similar to what you'd get an the airport and then i got a number for my electronics and made my way into the consulate.
It was a slight adventure getting in the place, and if you want to use the toilet or anything do it before you enter the final room.
I went in and waited. I thought there was a number system but there isn't not knowing what to do I just sat down. My name was the first to be called. I went to locket number 5 and then the lady asked me for all my documents and asked me if I have ever been married, if I have ever been to the states or if I have lived in places apart from Indonesia for more than 6 months to a year.
I said no, no and yes. She then took my papers, and told me that they will call me for the interview in Locket 1.
I was once again the first to be called into the interview booth, after waiting for about half n hour.
It's not room. It was a standing booth and we were separated by a glass window thing.
Anyway we started with an oath where I promised that everything I would say and had to say was the truth. I said yes.
she asked me how we met. Where we met. Had I been to the states before this. She didn't ask to see proof of our relationship. But she did ask me why I was in Kuala Lumpur so often and how long I lived there. I then showed her that I was a student in KL and proved by giving the police report from Malaysia and showing my then student visa. She also asked how many times we met over the course of the year.
She then asked me if I had any questions for her. I asked her information regarding visa applications for my family and then that was it.
she then said this has been a pleasure and I wish you well in the States. She said my visa was approved and gave me a blue slip. I was sooo happy and extremely grateful. I nearly started to cry, but I went out and informed this other lady that was waiting for her interview, I could not wait because my dad was outside waiting for me. Overall the experience was great and they were kind to me at the embassy.
I hope this helps! :D
