We arrived at the embassy 1 hour early. And entered rather quickly, the interview was for 8:30 a.m., we entered the office around 8 a.m. They called us up to a window to ask for some forms and proof our marriage is bonafide. Then the woman asked Silvana some questions about us, and told us we needed to fill out another D-156 form, so she gave us a letter to return back in an hour. We returned with the form filled out and gave that back to the lady at the window. Then she told us we needed another Judicial Nacional Nivel certificate(the one we had was not nacional). But that takes 10 days to clear, so they told us to sit down, and about half an hour later called us to the interview room for the official interview. The man there asked us questions about our wedding and how we met, and asked about our pregnancy loss(he had the photo of our ecografia of the baby when it was fine) Then gave us a yellow letter that stated we needed the Judicial certificate still, and that when they receive that in the mail along with Silvanas passport, they would print the visa for us. This man was kind and friendly and spoke better english than spanish. I asked him why they needed that form when Silvana has nothing else on her record of any kind, he said it is just policy for the exact forms. And I also asked the gentleman why some of the forms are headed with "Non-Immigrant Application" when we are applying for Immigrant Visa K3. He did not have an answer for that, and just told us there are too many people in government making too many forms that go to different places for processing. The people in the embassy honestly do not give a rats ass how much money it costs you or how long you are kept apart from your spouse by their rules. All they want is paper and money. I went to the embassy the next day to speak with the consul, and to get a statement sworn from them, and after much fuss and hassle they let me enter the embassy while Silvana waited outside. I did speak with the vice-consul and he told me that there is nothing that can be done to print the visa right now, or more rapidly, and lucky I did not need a notary there, they charge 30 bucks, American currency. All in all we were not denied the visa, just delayed a couple weeks, but the embassy is not very helpful, do not expect too much from them, being a citizen of the USA does not mean much there either. The USA is failing miserably in the immigration department.
