We have been together for nearly nine years, and married over 3.
My husband is the Australian and went to the U.S. Sydney consulate for his interview. He flew in from Perth the night before as he had to fly in from work as well. His plane from Perth was delayed 45 minutes, then in Sydney his plane was stuck on the Tarmac for an hour due to weather. Finally out of the plane he got in a taxi with less than an hour to spare for his interview and was very stressed.
He made it to his hotel, and then went to the interview and was ten to fifteen minutes late.
He was finished within an hour and half to two hours. The immigration agent just asked general questions about us, and then queried why my name was still in my maiden name on my 2013 tax return. This was because I hadn't changed my name on my SSN when in the U.S. while on a holiday previously. However, hubby did have my 2014 tax return which has my married name.
Hubby said it was easy and quick, and he was approved. His visa was in the mail in Perth within 4 days.hubby had a few days in Sydney so the passport beat him home.
