BELOW IS MY FIANCE'S REVIEW ... SORRY THIS IS COMING LATE …

(**Ene defu-amojo ki dabu Uwe? O Jehovah i nene du no **) … That was an Igala song which I was singing as I walked out of the embassy; it means “Who is like unto you among the gods, O Jehovah there is no one”.

My interview time was for 7:00am on 16/04/2015 … I came all the way from Portharcourt to Lagos so I have been there since on Monday when I went to pick up my medical results at Ikoyi and my fiancé arrived the following day from the states with all the docs I will need.

We stayed at a hotel which is like 10 mins away from the embassy. Got to the embassy around 5.30am I was surprised to see about over 40 persons waiting already.

The security guys stated checking us in exactly 6.40am (it was a Thursday and all the applicants for that day were for immigrant visas so no separation of lines (we were over 200 *scoffs**).

Documents were received inside the embassy and thereafter interview follows (all these takes over 2 hours). I was interviewed at exactly 9.46am and it lasted for less than 5 mins … The consular was a nice lady. She took my finger prints and then made me take oath to say the truth then here come the questions:

CO: I can see it’s your fiancé who petitioned for you

CO: How long have you guys known each other?

CO: How does she gets to the US?

CO: How many times has she visited?

CO: How long is she staying this time around?

CO: What does she do?

CO: What’s her role at the place of work?

CO: Do you have a relative at the US?

CO: Ok. All your paper works are perfectly in order and your responses are as it contained in the papers therefore I am approving your visa.

CO: You will need to get me another co-sponsor and submit the docs along with your passport to this address on this sheet (handed me a white paper with an address) and then pick up your visa two weeks after you submit same.

She didn’t check any of the evidences/documents I went with (I had just 7 pics with me …lolz)

(I GOT ANOTHER SPONSOR 4 DAYS AFTER MY INTERVIEW AND SUBMITED MY PASSPORT THEREAFTER, MY VISA WAS PRINTED 7 DAYS LATER)

All thanks to God, my fiance for her support, all members of VJ and the amiable CO on Nairaland ... God bless y'all and wish everyone in this journey a very goodluck ...

=== The key is be prayerful and let God have His way … Be confident and speak freely looking at the consular … Don’t let people scare you. Just be prepared. I saw a lot of people get approved and few denied before my own turn so its not like the visa officers are so scary or hates anyone ====
