The interview went smoothly.
I arrived an hour early and they let me go through. I went in at 8:30 and finished by 9:45. My interview was booked for 9:30.
Sabe process as others. Level 10 for security as document ordering (the ladies literally just put your documents in order - originals and copies - and then in a file ready for you to hand to the first person you see on when you get to level 59.
It's really not that scary. But I work for government in a confidential role so I'm use to all the official business stuff.
When I got to 59 I was instructed to take a number and wait. When my number came up I was asked to present all my documents. The nice lady looked through everything and made sure it was all there and all correct. She asked me for my husbands phone number which I gave her. I was then told to take a seat and il be called for my interview.
The I interview lady was a bit snippy but still nice. She asked me:
When we got married
If I had visited US (but of a trick Cuz our marriage was in US and she had just looked at our marriage certificate.
If my husband had visited Australia
if I plan to stay in US.
If I know his family
I DID NOT take pictures of Skype chats or any thing with me except what was asked of me from the letter. And frankly I think my interview lady would not have even looked at them.
Then she showed me the domestic violence info and said I was approved.
Points to note:
-There is a place to get 3kg envelopes and photos on level 10. I overheard this when I was on level 10. However all the consulate workers are not aware of this. One worker instructed a lady to go and look for an Auatralia post in the city.
-if you are taking the train from the airport like I did, get of at St James station. I found it the quickest. And then just walk down Elizabeth street away from the airport.
