My interview experience was a very pleasant one.
My Babe and I arrived at the consulate around 6:13am, and I joined the queue for the 7:00am appointment. We filed through the security checks and the officers confirmed my appointment. They gave me a contact form to fill. We sat there waiting to be called into the main building until 8:49am. We filed through another security check point that led us to the main building. There we walked through another detector like the ones at the airport
The guards then directed us to another block where we got a tally card. The room led us to the interview hall. There were not many people as I had thought. There, I joined another queue waiting to be called to submit their medicals and financial documents. A lady in one of the windows smiled at me and mouthed these words to me "I like your dress" and I smiled back at her saying "thank you". Her compliment boosted my morale lol. Guess what? When they called my name over the speaker, it was the same lady who had earlier complimented my dress. We both laughed when I walked up to the window. She was very nice and friendly. She said that our file was very thick (we had frontloaded with a lot of evidence) I also submitted ALL the financial documents I had with me. After that, the lady asked me to sit and wait for an officer to interview me. Please note that the interview is conducted right there at the windows, no privacy whatsoever so you better not pay attention to the people listening in on your conversation between you and the officer. There were approvals and denials. to be continued...
So I sat waiting for my number to appear on the
screen. After a while, it appeared on window 9. I
walked up to the lady with a beaming smile. She
smiled back as well.
She flipped through our file and exclaimed that our file was HUGE! I told her we had to include almost all
our evidence and that I came with more if she wants
to see them but she shook her head After that, I swore to say the truth, and the lady took
my finger prints.
She asked the following questions:
Who is calling you?
How did you meet?
Where was that? Have you two been dating since 1999?
When did you start dating?
Who made the first attempt to reconnect?
When did your fiance visit?
When did he propose?
What does he do for a living? Why did he not visit between 2011 and 2014?
When did he graduate?
When was your introduction/Engagement?
How many times did he visit? I told her and that
Babe was outside waiting for me, she nodded and
smiled! I had his passports but she did not ask for them so...
Where did he stay during his visits?
How long were his visits?
Why do you want to get married in the US?
Did he pay any bride price?
Have you met his family? Do you have pictures to show that? Pulled out
several pictures but she looked at a few and nodded
again.
She looked at my passport again and took a white
sheet from her desk. She circled my pick-up location
and said "I will approve your visa today. Go to this place after ten business days and pick up your
documents". It was a huge relief for me because I
had 2 student visa denials so hearing those words
from her made my heart sing I thanked her and gathered my file and left. Before my interview, I took time to study all the K1
reviews from the beginning to the end. I confessed
positively to February 26th. I told God what I wanted
it to be. And He honored it. I thank God that all our
resources and efforts put into the process were not
in vain. For that I am so grateful! Indeed that day was a testimony.
My advice, come prepared don't take chances. Pray and believe that your interview will be successful. Be calm, bold and precise in your responses. God bless!
