I'm only writing this review because I had a little bit of a bad experience!
But starting off it was great! I've been to the embassy in Stockholm before when I issued a student visa. So I knew the rules of making sure electronics are off and all that stuff. I actually left all that in the car with my fiancé, which made the security guards very happy and they were so polite telling me that it makes their job a lot easier. With all that, my nerves calmed and I felt confident walking in, for some reason I get nervous in situations like this! I guess a lot of us get nervous for this interview for now reason, it all happens really quick. So nothing to worry about! Anyway, I sat down and waited. After only a few minutes my name was called!
A swedish younger guy around his early 30's asked some questions and started gathering my documents. As I hand him my "personbevis" he strictly said NO, this is wrong! You need the one with your parents on there. So I just took it back and said oh okey sorry! Then he asked for the police report, which I did not have! The reason why is because from reading way to much of the internet and reading the instructions once to many times, we were confused if I needed it or not! From what we understood you only needed that IF you have a criminal record. We also called them four times and talked to four different people just to make sure, and they all said no you shouldn't be needing that. I have no idea why we listened to them and didn't get it anyway, but under these circumstances it's just easy to get confused!
So when he found out I didn't have it, he got very rude. He said and I quote because this made me very upset and I will never forget what he said: "-Why are you here today if you don't have all the right documents!? Haven't you read the instructions!? You do know that you are taking up someone else's place today by coming in here unprepared!"
I was so startled after he said this and all I could get out was; trust me I've read the instructions many times and made sure several times! But that's pretty much all I said, I knew I couldn't argue him and use the tone of voice with him that he just used with me.
In my opinion I don't think he had any right to say I was unprepared, for all of you that have done this know that there is a lot of stuff to keep track on and it easily get's confusing. And I have to say that they're not straight forward at all, most of the information of how to do the application we found online. Without that it wouldn't be possible. So thank god for this forum! And I really didn't understand his point of taking up space, as if it has never ever happened before that someone provided the wrong or were missing documents. Either way the interview has to be done...I mean I get it's easier for them to have it all in place the first time. But I think it's very unprofessional to express yourself in that way! There are so many other ways to put it, but he choose to be rude. That on swedish guy...funny because all of the american staff was very very polite and respectful!
So after that rude encounter I sat down again. Once again I was called shortly after and a american girl, around the same age as the swedish guy, interview me real quick and then explained to me what documents to provide and where to send it. Very nice! Super professional!
So overall it was pleasant! Spent around 30-40 mins there, so it all went quick! I was there at 8am, first in line! The staff was super nice, except that one swedish guy! Makes me shiver just to think about it. So I will rate this 4/5! That -1 can be counted as a BIG 0 for that rude guy!
