All praise unto God, the author and finisher of our faith. I arrived the embassy at 5:50am, there were hundreds of men and women there already and I kept wondering how they were able to get to the embassy that early. A whole lot of them had their suits and tie while the ladies had their skirt and trouser suits too combined with nice plimsolls or high heels. I felt a little under-dressed as I opted for a pair of khakis, short sleeve shirt and a pair of brown loafers. I had read it somewhere online that it is a visa interview not a job interview, so I decided wear what I felt comfortable in. At about 7:05, the applicant with 8'o clock appointments were called, we were asked to open all sealed envelops, I was scared to open my medical report because of the strict instructions given but they assured us that it was okay for us to open the envelopes but not to look through the contents. We got past the first security check as we were thoroughly screened, we formed another queue at the waiting area(outside the consulate), submitted our appointment letter and we were given a green card and a white slip to fill out while we took our seats. The guys came to call us in batches as we were seated and we had to go through another security check and we were taken to yet another security check with metal detectors. Belts, wristwatches and every other items were taken off us while we stepped through the metal detector and ushered to get another security check. Folders were checked and passports too, then I was asked to push a button to print a ticket number for me which I did and I was shown a seat at the waiting room. My number flashed and my mum was called and I stepped to the counter my passport, passport photographs, photocopy of my marriage license and copy of the DS 260 were collected from me and I was asked to take a seat again and await my name and number to be called. Barely 1 minute after I sat, I was called by a young pleasant black ladies in her twenties. She asked me to raise my right hand and took the oath which I did. Her questions were as follows:

25. Where did the wedding take place?
Answered Finally she handed over my original marriage certificate and birth certificate then told me to pay for the green card before I travel and that my visa has been approved. She handed me the collection center address and told me to pick it in a week. I was kind of enjoying the questioning because I had the answers nd I didn't have to think to hard to fetch them where and when appropriate. My advice: Be relaxed, know everything possible about your spouse and union, memorise the dates, don't over dress and try to be very organised. There was a lady I met there whole they had been interviewing before I stepped in the room, I left her there after the had grilled my ass with a thousand and one questions as she kept giving different answers to obviously the same question! It wasn't easy but it was worth fighting for.
Blessings to God alright, glory to His holy name and adoration to Him for pulling us through the frustrating struggle...Many thanks to my peeps on Foreign Wivesof AfricanMen (Facebook),greetings to my sweetest sister Dwheels and the entire VisaJourney Crew.... you all rock!
