Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I recently had my IR1 visa interview at the U.S embassy in El Salvador. My interview was scheduled for November 28, at 8:30am. When I went I made line at 8:00am I had to go in alone. My husband, the petioner did not accompany me to El Salvador. Once inside the waiting room after I got a number. I was first called by a woman who asked me a few questions, my fingerprints and some documents which she placed in a manila folder. Then she told me to sit and wait to be called by the officer. When he called me he was glad I spoke English he went ahead to ask me a few more questions and reviewing the documents I had given the woman prior to going with him. I had a lawyer do my paperwork as I have been living in the U.S for 17 yrs illegally. The officer asked me for a birth certificate of my son which I had provided to the lawyer who said he would submit it and they didn't receive it. The interview went well except for that birth certificate. The officer gave me a green paper asking me to take the documents to a cargo exoreso ASAP if I did it, it would take 2 days for him to have everything ready. He did provide me with an instruction guide which says your visa has been approved. I sent the documents 7 days ago and I still haven't gotten any news. Another thing that has been bothering me is that none of the two person's who asked me for documents asked me for my passport pictures. And he didn't tell me to send them along with the other documents. I'm a bit worried because it's been over a week and I haven't gotten any emails, or calls. I will post again as soon as I get more info....
