Frankfurt, Germany | Review on November 13, 2014: | Marco&Bettina
Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
I was there around 10AM with interview scheduled for 1030AM. I was driving by the Consulate cause there were no parking spaces. Then I found a space nearby. I already saw a long queue of people standing outside... When I got there, I had to register that I was there. The nice woman gave me a number. After that I had to go to the security guy... He was kinda rude... He was talking with an accent and I also was nervous so I didn't understand what he was saying first and also he was talking to 2 other people at the same time... However...I had to put my belt, bracelet, necklace, and keys into a plastic bag. After that I was standing in that queue. I think the max was 5 people going into that house for the security check. I just saw that a lady was talking to the people via the window, telling the people they can go in. Then I was the first in the queue. The security guy was talking to me from like 5 meters away.. Also I was daydreaming so I didn't notice he was talking to me and then I didn't understand all what he said. After that I heard him saying to another man "All the time these Germans, come over here and don't speak any English" bla bla bla (The USC is adding this comment, referring to this loser security guard. What a douche javascript:emoticon('')).
After going in finally it was just like a security check at the airport. Then going into another building and got directed to the cashier lady. I had to hand her the appointment confirmation. The barcode of the paid fee was printed on that. Then I had to go to a second lady. She got my fingerprints and was just telling me stuff like what's happening to me at the port of entry and what I will get today after the visa is issued and also gave me an information sheet for the case that women who are coming to the States and may be a victim of domestic violence.
Then the actual interview was less than 10 minutes. And the man was just asking me stuff like how we met, what the USC is doing for a living, what his hobbies are and what happened between us after meeting first... That's it... And then he said "Your visa is issued. The papers will arrive next week."
And everybody but the security guy was speaking German to me.
PS: The 4 rating is because of the security guard. Otherwise, it would've been a 5, or even 6, if allowable.
