Biometrics, Walk-in in Hartford:
Since there is so little about this process from the Hartford office, I thought I'd tell of our experience.
Doug was given a biometric appointment date of September 7, 2005. I didn't like the idea of waiting 6 weeks while nothing happened. So, today we did a walk-in at the ASC on Pearl Street in Hartford. We arrived around 10am and the place was jamming. I said to the guard inside the front door, "We've got an appointment in a few days but were in the area and thought we'd stop by." (obviously, not the truth) He was friendly but said that they were too busy. After more cajoling by me("Hhmm, well, we'll be downtown all day - perhaps later?"), he suggested we come back after 3pm.
We returned shortly after 2pm to find an empty waiting room. They took our information, without asking for a confirmation number or any info regarding an appointment. Doug had his prints done and photo taken in less than 10 minutes and we were out the door. Hurray! Perseverance sometimes pays off.
I believe that a walk-in is worth the attempt. You've got nothing to lose.
Good luck!
Nancy
