Hello, everyone.
I can honestly say I have never been more stressed in my life like I was before this interview.
I was scheduled at 1 pm. Around that hour the guards (not the nicest people ever) grouped us, the people waiting outside,in pairs and sent us inside where we had to go through the security check. As you all probably know, no one is allowed with electronics inside. They took my phone and stored it while I was inside. After the security check we went into another building into a waiting room.
Just as I sat down on a chair, they called my name at window 2 and the woman behind it, asked me for my passport and a visa format picture. I handed those to her and she asked me to sit down. After a few minutes later they called me at window 3 and asked me to go to the window 12 to pay the visa fee.
After 10 more minutes I had to go to window 6 and hand them the documents I was supposed to bring with me. Me and my fiance are both divorced and on the list from the consulate they didn't request his original divorce paper to be brought to the interview, but luckily I've been well prepared for anything they might ask extra so I had it with me.
Then I had to wait for about 20 minutes or so.
In the end they called my name to the window where the consul was.
The interview couldn't have went any smoother. He seemed genuinely nice and he welcomed me with a big smile which made me feel instantly a lot better and more comfortable. The interview was rather a nice conversation..He didn't asked me tricky questions or specific dates and information.. He asked for my fiance name...and if we met in person,if we made any plans for the wedding yet and if he met my family.
I managed to relax and be myself, tell him small funny stories while I was answering his questions. At one point we ended up talking about country music, hence I am moving to Nashville. I think he actually appreciated that a lot, because not long after the last question he looked at me, smiled and told me:"This looks great to me so ... "Welcome to America".
