I had a great experience at the consulate today!
I was only there for about 1 hr altogether!

Had a little trouble finding the building, but eventually ended up in the lobby and took the lift to level 10- security checkpoint.
I got there at 8.10am and my appt was booked for 8.30am, but security was really nice and said that I could go through.
Took the lift up to level 59, showed my passport, then went through the big, heavy door. The tickets are right in front of you after you walk in that door- seems as though not many people (including myself) noticed this. Took a ticket for "visas" then sat down.
Only waited about 20-30mins and I was called up by one lady, to fingerprint and check that I had all the required paperwork.
My documents were then passed to the embassy worker that does the interviews and he was extremely nice and easy to talk to, didn't feel nervous at all! To be honest, as long as you are in a genuine relationship, there's no need to be nervous!

Questions asked;
How did you first meet?
How often have you seen each other?
What do you do for a living and what does your fiance do?
How did he propose?
What does your mother in law do for work? (as she was our affidavit of support)
Where do you plan on living?

He said that all of my documents are complete, but unfortunately I hadn't put my middle name on my criminal record check.
He gave me a form with instructions to get another criminal record check (either a name check including my middle name or a fingerprint check.)
I completed this tonight so I'm just waiting for the criminal record check to arrive, then I need to post the original and photocopy to the consulate, then they will post back my passport with the approved visa and paperwork.

Note: I came to this interview with four folders!
1. checklist and all original documents
2. photocopies of the first folder
3. photocopies of extra documents
4. originals of my fiance's certificates

I only needed the first foler- the checklist and all original documents!
Better safe than sorry I guess..

Anyway, hope this has helped anyone.

Goodluck on your journey! =)
