The Embassy is a bit hard to find: It's not right on the parkring, it's on the side of the building in the courtyard area between parkring 12 and 12a (though I heard that you can get there through the lobby of the hotel). I went a bit early so I would have time to find the place. The consulate is on the fourth floor.

I arrived before 1 and was told to come back at 1. *Important!* Leave your iPad/computer/usb keys/cables at home! Your bag gets x-rayed at the door and there is nowhere to store your bag if you have any "contraband". The only suggestion I got was for wien mitte, which is a train station rather far away. Coins and phone chargers were included on the "not allowed" poster, but apparently those are less strictly regulated? The grumpy front desk lady described in a previous review (or her spiritual twin) was still working there, she was brusque, but polite.

I sat down and was eventually called up to the window and a lady checked my paperwork to ensure it was complete. I was then sent back to wait until I was called up to a second window for the interview. I expected a room with a desk, but it was done completely standing up like at a bank teller. There was a screen for partial privacy though. She asked some basic questions (where did I meet my husband, what did he do, what do I do, when did I see him last, where we plan to live in the US), then sent me back to the first window where they took my phone number and email address. I asked if I had passed, they said yes, but they don't do same day returns and I would have to come back another day. I got my original documents back and went home!
