Here is my experience for AOS interview today in Cincinnati.

Our interview was 10:30 am and we got there 9:00 am because we left house early due to bad weather.

FINALLY, We got called in by a male officer close to 12:00 pm. We were the only people left in the waiting room. We went in with him and he said this whole morning he only approved one case which made me nervous because I thought he might be a tough guy. But he explained that MSC really messed up a lot of cases, many cases he processed this morning were not supposed to be called up for interview, instead, they should be requested for more evidences. OK, that made me think OMG, am I one of the case too?

He led us to his office and apologized for long wait. He started to flip through all my files that I originally submitted and said who prepared for the file. I said I did and hubby joked about "It has been my full-time job" . He smiled and said they are well-prepared. And then he asked whether I had completed I-693 (i submitted one with AOS application, but I needed vaccination supplement), he recognized our civil surgeon's name and complaint about how dirty her office is and blah blah and he said "I am glad that she got yours done". Then he asked for my EAD card, but not AP, so I asked him whether he needed that back too, he said yes. But he never took my I-94 card and never crossed out my F-1 student visa. Then he asked about our employment letter and I don't think he really read it at all. And then he started asking me a couple of questions on I-485 (have you been arrested etc). Then he turned to my husband and asked him if he ever got married, had children or not. When he saw the birth place of hubby where is not far away from his hometown, they started talking about HS football. At last, he said he finally got another granted case today and stamped my passport with I-551 which is valid for 4 months and told me that GC should be in the mail about 3-4 weeks. He also explained when I should lift condition and apply citizenship if I am willing to.

It took me about 2 hours to check everything last night, but during the whole process, the only things he wanted were my medical examination (I-693), passport, EAD, AP, our employment letters. Didn't want anything that show our joint life, no photoes, didn't ask a SINGLE question about personal thing because he said he has been working in USCIS for 10 years and he can tell whether the relationship is real through our interactions. The interview took about 10-15 minutes. Afterwards we went out for lunch and visited art meusum in downtown.

Overall, it was a nice and easy interview except a long wait period.
