Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appointment was set for 8:15 am, but we got there before 7. We were the first ones in line before they opened. Once in, we went through the security checkpoint, gave our interview letter at the window and filled out a request for info paper. All of the IO's that came to the door to call on couples and families seemed very personable and nice.
After about 40 minutes, a man approached us to say that our IO was running late. We were finally brought in at about 9:15.
The IO seemed formal, but friendly. We were told to take the oath, and to sit down. He asked to see our IDs and went through the bio info. The IO went through our file, and asked us how we first met. My husband (USC) told the story, and rather than giving the short answer, he even made the IO laugh a couple of times, which relieved the stress.
The IO proceeded to ask if we had any further evidence to add to our file, such as bank accounts, a lease or pictures. We procured all three, and he took 4 pics from the wedding album and made copies.
He then took my passport, and stamped it with a 1 yr permanent resident stamp, saying that the GC should arrive in the mail in less than 2 weeks.
It all took around 25 minutes, and was not as horrible as I thought it would be. My advise? Be yourself and try your best to not be nervous.
