Arrived early at the consulate was met by personnel who took our name. We filed into the consulate and went upstairs. Another person gave us papers to complete and to put our papers in order. Once finished, we handed our stack of papers to the same person to verify all documents were in order and complete. We were called to a window. Person reviewed the documents and asked us to wait. 30-45 minutes later we were called to the interview 'area', off to the right. American gentleman spoke directly to my wife in Portuguese then to me in English. He asked my wife if she wanted to continue in Portuguese. She said yes. He asked a few questions like where did we meet, what my kids names are and why she wants to go to the USA. After he said she was approved!!! We left there, went next door to pay for a Sedex package that will be sued to send the package and her passport to her home. We took the receipt back to the same place in the consulate. Done.
NOTE: you have to do all of your medicals before the interview. If your medicals are not at the consulate before the interview then that is ok. They will approve based on the results of the medical reports. GET THERE EARLY. Do not go to the front door. Go to the rear of the building. Personnel are nice but diligent. Have your papers in order and ready. Best wishes and good luck.
