Our interview was earlier today and it went really well! It was scheduled for 12:15PM and we arrived at 12PM. Less than five minutes after we arrived, we were called. We brought an interpreter, since we've read it's not advisable to go without one unless you are completely fluent. Turns out our officer was fluent in Spanish so we didn't even need her. She was allowed to come in and sit through the interview though. He made a joke about something and that put me at ease.
He reviewed our application and asked for any new documentation to show our continual relationship, that hadn't already been submitted. He specifically asked for new photos, bank statements, and a lease agreement. We provided the two latest bank statements, our lease agreement, a copy of the last check we paid the rent with (signed and dated by the office - mainly to show we were both on the bank account), and two new photo books. We brought copies of the photo books so he could keep. He actually looked through the bank statements and asked a question about one of the deposits.
He did repeatedly ask a few of the same questions, I'm assuming to ensure we were being truthful. We just kept giving our same truthful responses. He was pleasant and very attentive to every detail. He even went through a book my husband made me for our 1 year anniversary. It was pretty funny and he seemed to like it. The only questions he asked aside from what was in the application were: where did we meet, why we were both at the meeting place, and how our relationship progressed. He didn't really ask much about our relationship, very likely because of the overwhelming amount of evidence we presented. (We brought the books we've had made for every major trip we take. Ex: Wedding, Honeymoon, 1st Anniversary, and another bonus one.) I only made copies of the last two for him, since I had originally sent in photographs from the first two books when submitting the application. He said I made his job easy because I was extremely well prepared. I think that boded well for us! The only thing that he made a copy of was our rental agreement, because I had only made a copy of the first page, thinking the rest wouldn't be needed.
He didn't stamp his passport, but he took his Visa and his I-94. He told us we should be getting the residency in 1-2 months, but most likely a lot sooner! We left his office at about 12:50PM.
