I went to the medical in the morning (at 9:30) at Dr. Meyers: I couldn't take more than a day off work. When I called to get an appointment, I had her secretary who told me it was ok to have the blood test and X-ray done before the appointment and also said there were only looking for HIV. Well, when I got to Dr Meyer's office, she told me I was supposed to have everything done in Paris and that I needed to have other blood tests taken to check for Syphillis... I got a little panicked but things got better: I went to the blood analysis laboratory and they had the results before 12:30... One thing though that I didn't like that much is that I had to pay 160€ even though I made half of the medical in Saint-Etienne... Don't forget to get a double of the vaccination form and to keep the x-rays: you'll need them for your AOS.
I got to the embassy at 12:45 and waited in line about ten minutes. I went through security: it is a bit like at the airport: they kept my phone and my car keys. I was then led to a room where I had to wait with other people (immigrants and non-immigrants). After maybe 10 minutes, they called for immigrant visas and took the names of the people who were there. 5 minutes later, they called my name at a desk and a lady took all of my paperwork: she was really nice and explained me a bit more about what I'll have to do once I'm in the US. She didn't look at the proof of engagement that my fiancee had gathered, she took the I-134 but the I-864 is sufficient. She asked me a few questions: how I met my fiancee, if I had a job lined up... Then I sat back down for a few minutes and was called by a consular officer who was also really nice and asked me different questions like how we met, what my fiancee's name was, what her job is, when am I planning to move in the US...
At the end, he told me: "you'll receive your visa within 10 days" and that was it! I HAVE MY VISA!!! I actually received it 3 days later!!
So, there really is no need to worry about the interview, people are really nice and helpful. I was expecting it to be really chaotic but it really isn't: you just need to be patient enough until they call your name up.
I hope this has been useful to you guys, good luck to everybody!!
