The whole time I spent in the consulate was only 1 hour. It was pretty smooth and orderly all things considered.
The longest wait was actually getting a number! Go figure! After that, documents in take only took 5 mins. The staff was polite, patient and thorough. I brought all required documents and more. I presented each document as he asked and offered to hand in our domicile proof. He took a look at all the documents (Cuz I really brought a THICK stack of various papers to prove our intent to stay) and gave them back said they are not needed. He asked me two questions:
1. Who is petitioning for you?
2. Have you ever lived in another country besides Japan? (cuz I lived in Jp for 2 years and submitted the Japanese police certificate.)
The interview was so short. I wasn't aware that was the actual interview in the beginning because for some reason I was totally expecting a room and a table something like that. Anyways, the VO was sooooo serious! He seriously had No facial expression whatsoever! I was a little nervous because of that. He DIDNOT ask me if I want to speak English or Chinese, but spoke Chinese the whole time. His Chinese was really good too! So he looked thru all the documents, and asked:
1. Are you from xx? Which city?
2. How many children do you guys have?
3. Have you been to the US?
4. Have you joined CCP?
The Vo was very cut and dry. Then said your visa has been approved! I like his style!
The building looked nice and clean! The CGI Stanley staff were pretty rude from time to time, but I suppose that's not all their fault, judging by how many people who just don't listen and kept asking unnecessary questions.
