My interview at the Juarez Consulate was the second one, I had already had one in August 2012 and was given the option to apply for a waiver (I 601) Long story short, we submitted the waiver and it was approved by September 2013, went to the Consulate on the appointed date, sometime around Thanksgiving, app. was for 7 15 a.m. and me and my daughter got there around 6 15 am (it was very cold and we were not properly dressed for that weather) Arrived first to the Sala de Espera and had the papers checked, went to the line at the Consulate and since I was missing my envelope with the medical (I had sent those through DHL as per Consulate request a few weeks earlier) I was sent to form a line at the information window, the guard was kind enough to tell me to go and wait at the Sala de Espera since it was too cold for my daughter to be standing outside. Came back around 8 am, still waited in line for about 30 minutes, was checked in the computer that the medical results were indeed already in and got let in. Security check, normal, given a numbered ticked and went to wait inside, paperwork was first checked by a person which gave me back all the forms presented on my first interview and just kept the newer ones and the pictures, then I was called maybe in about 15 more minutes to another window, got to talk to this lady which asked me a few questions about my fiance and seriously questioned the fact that in so many years of engagement we didn t get married, she said "if you really wanted to get married you could have got married at the bridge" Well, it was a personal decision, I thought for myself. She kept reviewing the paperwork submitted with K 1 petition, and told me I would be receiving our visas the next week, she also gave me a brochure about violence. Left the place feeling happy, visas arrived within 6 or 7 days.
