I am really happy with happy with the consulate in Juarez, and glad our journey came to an end.
My wife had her interview on May 8, 2014 at 9:15 am, she was out by 10:15am.
we stay at la Quinta In, I will suggest this hotel to anyone. There is other hotels that are closer to the consulate, but la Quinta makes everything really easy. The will give you a ride everywhere you need to go. the saving where amazing there, breakfast is included (Good tasty Mexican food). The ride from the airport was $250 pesos, but la Quinta in no charge. All you have to do wait for the shuttle to come back or make an appointment, they will take you to the door step.
We got to the Hotel Saturday may 3 and had some family time at the near by places.
Monday May, 5 we had medical done at the Frontera Clinic. We had made an appointment, so no wait. where there for about 3 hrs and paid close to $380 Dlls. for medical exam and a couple of vaccines my wife needed. when bak next day to pick up the results.
Tuesday May, 6 Biometrics day, appointment was 2pm, she was out of there fast, maybe half an hr. there is restaurants in that plaza in case anyone is waiting to eat or have drink.
Wednesday May, 8 was interview day. We ate breakfast at the hotel and stook the shuttle to the consulate. got to the sala de espera around 8:45am, they review the documents and told my wife where to go. They send people to the consulate by groups, so she didn't wait much and was sent to consulate. There a recording that tells waiting period is about 3 to 5 hrs. My wife came back exactly at 10:15am, so really no wait at all.
Interview:
two questions where asked,
1) Do you and your husband have any children?
yes, one
2) Do you have a criminal record/
No
3) typing in the computer... Congratulation your visa has been approved!
my wife: hu?
officer: your visa has been approved.
yes!!!
We went back to the hotel and celebrated.
next day May 8, I was checking online for updates on WayBill and nothing all day. around 5:15 pm waybill was shown. went to DHL to pick it up.
Friday 9, we bought airplane tickets, paid the green card bill online and headed to the border, which the hotel gave us a ride there and pick us up.
at the border, on the Mexican side, they charge 6 pesos person to cross.. WTH? anyways, paid and walk in. went inside the office, no waiting at all, got out there in about 15 minutes. Called the hotel to pick us up and had a meal and rested, before heading to the airport. We tipped the driver, since they were really giving us grate service.
May 10, we picked up our car and drove across the border with no delays at all.
We are now home really happy our Journey is over.
