K1 Interview

He went to Embassy at 7am on March 24, 2014 and found 2 lines, one is long and the other is short. The short line is for Immigration Visas and they come first. The long is for Tourist Visas and they enter 2nd (about 1 hour after Immigration). In the security line they check your interview letter (MUST HAVE TO ENTER) and passport and then allow you to enter. **NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED or DIGITAL WATCHES.** You enter the down stairs hall with windows on each side. One window for Tourist Visas and paying the fees and another set of inside windows that you can't see from the hall for Immigration Visas. You are given a number and you sit. There were 22 total there that day and he was number 10. They call his number to pay his fee. They take his birth certificate and military papers in Arabic (only-did not require English translations) and took his fingerprints(all fingers / both hands). This lady asked him some questions and he asked if she was the consular and she said no. After this she had him pay the visa fee of $240.00 and the DHL fee of 70 pounds. (You CAN pay all fees in Egyptian pounds or US dollars.) Then he got another number and he was free to walk around the embassy until his turn. He waited about 2 hours after paying the fees. They call his number finally and send him to a window with a number.

He was asked for his name and number. The man brought my Fiancés complete file, verified his name, picture, passport, and asked him to swear that everything was correct in the packages they received.

He asked my fiancés name, age, and asked about the “great love story” in a very kind and kidding way. My Fiancé explained our story.

He asked who started talking to whom first because we met online. All the while he was typing in the computer.

Question: Why do you love her? Response.

Question: How many times your Fiancé visited you in Egypt? Response.

Question: Was she married before? Response.

Question: Was he was married before? Response.

Question: How many times was she married before? Response.

Question: Which one of her ex's was Egyptian?

The man said to my Fiancé “he left her 2 months after he got his citizenship. So how did you convince her to go through this K1 Visa process again after he did this?" Response. (The man believes that my Egyptian ex-husband married me for the US Citizenship and he was concerned that my Fiancé would do the same.)

Question: how many kids does she have? Response.

Question: Is the girl from the Egyptian? Response.

Question: Does she live with her dad? Response.

Question: Is this okay to raise another mans child? Response.

He took his passport to enter information into the computer. Then a woman took the file, they gave him back his passport and a paper that said "Administrative Processing". He told him he is Approved. He asked for new TB test but my Fiancé already did it and gave it to him. He told him they will call in 2 weeks.

He received his passport on April 14, 2014!! Arrived in USA on April 18, 2014 and we couldn't be happier. May Allah bless you all in your new journey.

Salam
