8:00am
I arrived at Tameikesanoh station. Although my interview appointment was from 9am, I was hoping I could get in alittle early. As I was waiting in line, I was told that I will need to wait til 8:45 since they were letting in green card holders/ applicants in first.
8:45am
Had to hand in all electronic devices and did a body check. After that they gave me a piece of paper on how to file the documents in order to hand in. Also, there is a small sheet of paper they give you and you will need to write your name and current address in Japan as well as where you would want your greencard to be sent in the US. I had to write my fiancés parents address because we will possibly be moving to our new apartment at that point. I'm just glad I had their parents address with me.
9:30
My number was called and submitted my documents.
Documents I handed in are...
1. 1color passport photo
2. Current passport
3. DS-160 confirmation page
4. Family register with English translation
5. I-134 and evidence of other financial support documents
6. Police certificate
7. Medical examination report
(This is the order they require to be filed)
after that, I waited in my seat to be called for the fingerprints. I was practically the first one out of the K1 visa applicants that handed in the docs but it took soooooo long for me to be called. I was started to get worried...
11:15
My number was called. I got my fingerprints taken and then started my interview.
Interview questions were....
1. Where did you first meet your fiancé?
2. When did you start dating?
3. Have you been married in the past? Do you have kids?
4. Has your fiancé been married in the past? Does he have kids?
5. How do you keep in contact with him?
11:30
That's all they asked and I was approved. They told me I will be getting my passport with my visa in about a week.
I brought our pictures, flight info, letters etc to prove our continuous relationship but was never asked to hand them in.
All and all, everything went smoothly. The most difficult part was to patiently wait in your seat to be called....
I hope this information will help some of our VJ friends out there!
Good luck to everyone!
